A
plug-in
is a program that
extends Acrobat. It's separate from Acrobat: its capabilities can be
added to Acrobat at any time by simply placing it with the other
Acrobat plug-ins and restarting Acrobat.
Among a variety of ways, you can enhance Acrobat by changing the user
interface or by modifying PDF files.
A few of the ways you can change the Acrobat user interface:
- adding and removing tool buttons and menu items
- adding new tools
Some of the ways you can change PDF files:
- modifying their page content
- adding private data
- adding annotations of your own design
- adding hyperlinks to the document and external documents
